What is occupational therapy?
Occupational therapy, or OT, is a specialized healthcare profession that can help children with developmental delays and disabilities reach their potential. Occupational therapy helps kids build the skills they need to be successful in school, at home, and in the community.
It focuses on helping children learn how to do everyday activities, such as dressing, eating, and grooming, as well as activities that require fine motor skills like handwriting, coloring, or cutting.
Occupational therapists can also help children who have difficulty with behavior, social skills, sensory processing, and physical activity. Through play-based activities, an occupational therapist can help a child build the skills they need to be successful in all areas of life.
